Why You Should Care
According to statistics from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration:
- Traffic crashes are a leading cause of death for Teens.
- In the U.S., there are approximately 6,700 people injured in traffic accidents every 24 hours.
- Sadly, that works out to nearly 5 people injured every minute, or 1 person every 13 seconds.
- Novice teen drivers are twice as likely as adult drivers to be killed in a car crash.
- There was a 16% increase in 15-18 year-old drivers killed in passenger vehicles between 2014 and 2023.
- Nationally, annual pedestrian deaths involving vehicles surged 70% from 2010 to 2023.
